2021 Performance Showcase NEW!
Deadline for Submissions: May 21, 2021
The Southern Gulf Islands Arts Council invites musicians, dancers, spoken word, dramatic, and other performers from the island communities of Galiano, Mayne, Pender and Saturna to join in an online showcase that’s part of the 2021 Arts on the Islands Regional Exhibition of art.
Emerging and established performers can participate by posting their works on a platform such as Vimeo or Youtube and submitting the links for inclusion. These links will be posted on a dedicated area of the Arts on the Islands website. The launch date will be July 1 st and content will be available for one year, offering performers long-term, far-reaching exposure of their work while celebrating the creativity our islands have to offer.
Who can participate?
Performers at all stages of their development who live full-time or part-time in the Southern Gulf Island communities of Galiano, Mayne, Pender or Saturna and are aged 19 and older are encouraged to take part. Performers who are not already members of the Southern Gulf Islands Arts Council will receive membership free for 2021.

How to Participate
Performers should upload digitized video/audio submissions to a platform such as Vimeo or Youtube and provide the link by email to [email protected] no later than May 21, 2021.
The title of the email should be “Arts on the Islands Performance Showcase.” The performer’s name, address and contact information should be included in the body of the email.

Performance Submission Guidelines
- Eligible submissions include video or audio files made within the last three years.
- Performers may submit up to three links.
- Types of performances may include instrumental, vocal, spoken word, drama, dance and others.
- Work can be original or an interpretation of known work as long as copyright is observed and sources are acknowledged.
- All work must be suitable for viewing by all ages. The organizers reserve the right to exclude work that is deemed inappropriate for the setting and audience.
