It is an active group that organizes art exhibitions, multi-disciplinary events, and the island's biannual Made on Mayne Tour. It also supports community arts programming through the disbursement of small grants. In accordance with the bylaws of the Southern Gulf Island Arts Council, a local board of directors guides operations:

Made on Mayne 2023 Spring Tour
Twice a year Mayne's artists, artisans, crafters, growers, and makers welcome visitors at their studios, galleries , roadside stands, and community venues to see their work and do a little shopping. Tour maps are published so visitors can wind their way around the island and enjoy Mayne's bounty of creativity. Made on Mayne Tours happen in the Spring and Fall on the Easter and Remembrance Day weekends.

We are currently ramping up for the Spring 2023 tour. Details available here.

BC Ferries Floating Galleries
Work by members of the Mayne Island branch is on display in the Floating Gallery display cases on board BC Ferries vessels serving the Southern Gulf Islands. Next time you're travelling, take time to see what artists on Mayne and the other Southern Gulf Islands have been creating. Artists can participate in these displays by joining the Southern Gulf Islands Arts Council.
